The process usually takes almost an hour from beginning to end.  We start with a history, do lung testing and skin prick testing and then let you sit for 20 minutes before the physician does the interpretation.  Recommendations for intervention and any medications or interventions will be offered at this time by the physician.

Skin prick testing is not painful.  It involves the nurse putting a small drop of allergen on the skin and pricking the skin to introduce it to your immune system.  A positive response occurs when a small bleb occurs at the site of the skin prick.  The physician will measure the extent of this reaction.
