When you are contacted by our office, you will be given the date of allergy testing and directions on how to prepare for your test.  Generally we would prefer that you not take antihistamines (reactine, Claritin, Benadryl etc) for a week prior to testing.  You can take singulair and your puffers.  If it is possible, please do not take ventolin on the day of your allergy test.

We cannot test patients if they are on beta blockers.  These are medications that end in –olol such as metoprolol or bisoprolol.  Typically these are used for management of high blood pressure.  Please speak to your primary care provider if you are on one of these medications to see if you can discontinue or change your prescription to allow us to test you.
